Why hot water is harder in a hospital.
There is no quiet hour
Ward washing, CSSD and laundry overlap around the clock. Plant sized on an average never catches up; plant sized on a peak sits idle.
Temperature is a clinical control
Storage at 60 °C and distribution above 55 °C is not a comfort setting, it is infection control. Any scheme has to hold it under load.
Shutdowns are not available
A retrofit has to happen alongside a live building, ward by ward, usually at night, with the old plant staying available until the new one is proven.

A 400-bed hospital moved off diesel over eleven nights.
Three TT-CM 90 units and 20,000 L of storage replaced two diesel calorifiers. The old plant stayed live until every wing was proven, then was isolated rather than removed.
